Entering the exhibition space feels like gathering in a room full of people, with some guests staring at you, others busy in different settings or conversations. Oscillating between a vague sense of recognition and the uncertainty of its truth, the viewer enters the space accompanied by a feeling of curiosity and expectation: similarly to when we enter into a party setting, our gaze wanders upon the guests, searching for familiar faces and encountering new ones along the way.

HAVE WE MET is the quintessential expression of this partially failed recognition: the aim of the show is to engage the spectator with the artworks in the same way as one would do with actual people.

From close ups of faces to depictions of figures acting in a specific setting, all the paintings embody lively characters acting in various environments, in a multitude of shapes and colors.

While the style and formal language of each artist is very different, seen together the works deliver an ungraspable impression of connection, to each other but also to the viewer, who finds him/herself locked into an interplay of intimacy and unknown.

Aren’t those the perfect ingredients for a party to remember?
