By celebrating the purest state of creation - one that is guided by intuition - A Third Hand interrogates the potential, and limitations, of our consciousness. Expanding on Guston’s original thought, this exhibition merges the human experience with external forces, such as technology, nature and spirituality.
Guston’s guiding principle was that an artist’s first duty is to be free. In this spirit, A Third Hand is providing a space for artists to push the limits of their own bodily capabilities through gesture and immersion. This exhibition brings together six artists working internationally in conversation in a play on materiality, scale and texture to explore - and expand - the very medium of painting.
